Hero Qaıyrbaev

On January 23, 2020, the Museum of Military Glory hosted an evening in memory of Makhmet Kairbayev, Hero of the Soviet Union, dedicated to his 95th anniversary. This is the first event of the Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov within the framework of the Erlikke Taqzym project dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. The evening was organized by the S.Toraigyrov Regional Library together with the Museum of Military Glory of the G.N. Potanin Museum of History and Local Lore.

One of the courageous individuals who survived the harsh war years and worked for the good of their country in the post-war period is Makhmet Kairbayev. For courage and braveness, our fellow countryman was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. After the war in the Pavlodar region, he was a member of the party, twice received the Order of the Red Banner and medals for services to the virgin lands.

In the evening of memory, the son of the famous soldier Murat Kairbayev, the author of several books about his father, took part. The guests of the evening were Makhmet Kairbayev’s colleagues, creative intelligentsia, and military personnel.
