Online lecture "History of the Colonial Period of Kazakhstan in the Archives of the Near and Far Abroad"

On August 28, Doctor of Historical Sciences Gulfira Elubayevna Otepova presented an online lecture for the readers of the Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov about sources on the history of colonial Kazakhstan.

The study of history is a national task, because knowledge of history forms the national spirit. Reliable historical data is contained in historical sources. Gulfira Elubayevna is one of the main specialists in our country on this topic. She has done a tremendous amount of work to identify and introduce many historical sources into scientific circulation. She worked in archives of different countries: the Russian State Military Historical Archive (Moscow), the Russian State Historical Archive (St. Petersburg), the Royal Library of Belgium, the historical archives of the Omsk and Orenburg regions, the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The result of long-term work in these institutions was the monograph "History of Kazakhstan in the legislative sources of the Russian Empire", a chronological index "Legislative acts of the Russian Empire on the history of Kazakhstan". These and other scientific works of G. Otepova are in the collection of the regional library.
