"Vita brevis, ars longa" ("Life is short, art is eternal") - this phrase of the great Hippocrates was the title of the personal exhibition of the famous Pavlodar artist and teacher Alexander Kolodin, which opened today in the gallery "Ayna" of the regional library named after. S. Toraigyrov.

Alexander Ivanovich was born in Siberia, studied in the Urals, graduated from the Chelyabinsk Academy of Culture and Art, and since 1978, lives and works in Pavlodar.

His family, colleagues and friends know him specifically as a teacher and artist. Alexander Ivanovich devoted more than 40 years of his life to pedagogical and educational activities. His students are winners of city, regional, national and international exhibitions.

The Pavlodar artist's work is well known to fans of painting. His works have been displayed at numerous exhibitions in Kazakhstan, China, Germany and Russia. Many paintings decorate private collections in the United States, China, Japan, Israel and Germany.

Throughout the years, the artist's solo exhibitions were successfully opened in Pavlodar, in Chelyabinsk at the Academy of Arts and Culture, and in Almaty at the A. Kasteyev State Museum of Arts. Besides, Alexander Ivanovich is a laureate of regional, republican and international contests, winner of various government awards.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Akim of Pavlodar region Aizada Amangeldinovna Kurmanova, Executive Secretary of "Amanat" Party Ilya Sergeyevich Terenchenko. Representatives of the Center of Active Longevity, as well as friends and colleagues, gave welcoming speeches. Sholpan Bayanovna Shakhmetova, head of the regional library named after S. Toraigyrov, congratulated the artist on the opening of his exhibition.

The exhibition includes over 40 works of art.
