Reading halls
ELECTRONIC CATALOGS HALL
In the hall of electronic catalogs are: Alphabetical Catalogue of Books, Thesis Abstracts, Systematic Catalogue of Thesis Abstracts, the Electronic Catalogue, bibliographic and full-text electronic databases of the Library. There are two automated workstations at your service. Consultant on duty makes bibliographical and factual information, gives consultations and helps to find editions.
THE RARE BOOK HALL
The Rare Book Hall (2014) performs the functions of storage, processing, study and use of book memorabilia within the framework of the program "Rarity". The goal of the program is to preserve monuments of literature and provide readers with access to rare and valuable publications.
The books of rare and valuable editions of Pavlodar Regional Library have special historical and cultural and memorial value. The collection collection contains about 3,000 units of storage and includes the following collections: 19th - middle of 20th centuries; Kazakh press; facsimile and reprinted editions; miniatures; books with autographs.
Information about individual books from the collection of the Kazakh press was included in the unified information fund of national repositories and the international database on Kazakhstan.
Information about book monuments from funds of the regional library, PGPU, G. Potanin historical and local history museum, Bukhar Zhyrau literature and art museum, regional CBU, private collections were included in "The summary of book monuments of Pavlodar region", compiled by the regional library.
SULTANMAKHMUT TORAYGYROV HALL
The hall contains all the literature about the outstanding countryman, poet-democrat S. Toraigyrov, whose name our library bears. There is access to the Virtual Encyclopedia "Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov". There is an exhibition " Soz sultans Sultanmahmut". This is also a place for literary evenings, meetings, meetings of clubs and universities. There are meetings of the literary club "Istoki" and meetings of the Literary Studio.
UNIVERSAL READING HALL
The Universal reading hall (1896) has the fund of more than 100 thousand copies of books and 258 names of Kazakh and Russian periodicals, it allows to satisfy the information inquiries of users on different subjects. It also has a rich fund of PhD and doctoral dissertation abstracts in all branches of knowledge.
It coordinates the work of the Russian Language Center and "Til Oneri" People's University.
INDUSTRIAL LITERATURE HALL
The hall of industrial literature (1978) has about 16 thousand copies of books and more than 40 titles of periodicals. Every year it serves more than 2500 readers. Coordinates the work of the oldest hobby clubs: "Our Hearth" and "Violet", "Modeler-Constructor", "HLD", ecological lecture hall "Green Planet" in the framework of the program "Ecology and Life".
In the framework of the social project "Vocational guidance. Technical Education. Employment" for school leavers and college students on a permanent basis holds vocational classes, Weeks of technical books, Monthly agricultural books, meetings with masters of industrial training of technical colleges of Pavlodar, quest-games with working professions.
THE INTERNATIONAL LITERATURE HALL
The International literature hall (2001) disposes about 6 thousand copies of educational, reference, branch and fiction literature, electronic editions in 50 world languages, the fund of audio and video resources, teaching programs and board games. In cooperation with the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, it regularly organizes Language Weeks and Festivals. The contact with Goethe Institute is established. The American Corner was opened in 2012. Many events are held, aimed at teaching English, propaganda of history and culture of the USA.
There are special interest clubs: Movie Club, Conversation Club, Ielts Club, Ted talk discussion club, board game club.
ART LITERATURE HALL
The Hall of Literature on Art (1996) presents a rich and diverse collection of 12,000 books and 20 magazines and a sound library of 2,000 audio and video cassettes and gramophone records. The record library was opened in 2014 and contains a unique collection of sound recordings on various types of media: gramophone records, disks, audio cassettes. More than 1 thousand gramophone records (classical music, musical compositions, literary records, pop music) are stored. It is equipped with sound-reproducing equipment. The resources of the phono library accompany musical and literary evenings.
Meetings of the information and cognitive circle "Asyl kazyna" and the handmade women's club "Masteritsa" are held in the hall.
CO-WORKING CENTER
The Co-working Center in the library opened in 2018 as a public space that brings people together for communication, learning and creative interaction. Comfortable conditions for work are created: comfortable chairs, tables, areas for joint and individual work, Wi-Fi, high-speed Internet, office equipment.
