Poet's Memorial Day "Sultanmakhmet Toraygurov - Akan zholdyzdyң synaary

Poet's memorial day "Sultanmakhmet Toraygurov - Akan zhuldyң syary" was held on the 21st of May in the regional library named after S. Toraigyrov. Sultanmakhmut Toraigyrov is one of the biggest figures of Kazakh literature of the beginning of XX century. The writer-fellow countryman who lived only twenty seven years and left immeasurably rich heritage to his descendants.

The regional library named after the great poet carries out great work on preserving the heritage of the poet. The annual laying of flowers at the monument of S. Toraigyrov has become a tradition.

Young people read excerpts from the poet's works. Folk songs were performed by the singers of the Pavlodar Regional Philharmonic Society named after I. Baizakov Asel Botayeva and Rizahan Kabiyev. Aulbayeva A.R., the compiler of the collection "A Star Named Sultanmakhmut" performed at the event.

The Pavlodar Regional Philharmonic Society named after Isa Baizakov in the regional library named after S. Toraigyrov started the action "Journey into the world of books".

Flowers were laid at the poet's monument at the intersection of Academician Satpayev and Toraigyrov Streets. The event was attended by poetry lovers and readers of the library.
