Ethnographic hour “Free as the wind, the Polish people”

On April 11, an ethnographic hour “Free as the wind, the Polish people” took place with the participation of members of the Public Association “Regional Society of Poles “Polonia”” and students of the Polish branch of the National Revival School named after K. Darzhuman. Poles first appeared on the territory of Kazakhstan in the 18th–19th centuries. The first Poles were political exiles. A notable contribution among them to the culture of Kazakhstan was made by A. Zataevich, a famous musicologist and researcher of Kazakh folklore.

Polish language teacher Mrs. Sylvia Lukashkevich Dudek and Marina Emelyanovna Ershova held a quiz on knowledge of the landmarks of Poland. The songs “Zakohane Spring”, “Musicians”, “My Kazakhstan” were performed by members of the vocal and choreographic ensemble “Narzits”. The eve ended with a bibliographic review of Polish literature.
