Folk festival "Grandma's chest"

February 19, in the department of children's literature of the regional library, within the framework of the project “Urpaqtar sabaqtastyǵy/ Dialogue of generations”, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the folk festival “Grandmother's Chest” was held.

What is stored in the chests of Belarusian grandmothers was told by the members of the Krynitsa ensemble of the Belarus cultural center. Students learned what bast shoes are made of, how aprons are sewn, how shirts and towels are woven, and how clothes are sewn. The guys saw these and other objects at the exhibition of applied art. The guests spoke about Belarusian national holidays - Maslenitsa and Kupalya, dedicated to the sun and the heyday of the earth. To the music of the accordion player, the children played around dance and played the game "Who Guesses Faster". Folk songs in different languages were performed by the vocal team of the Zamandas veterans club.

At the end of the event, grandmothers congratulated everyone on the upcoming holidays, performed the “Shashu” ceremony and invited all those present to Pancake Week celebrations to be held next week.
