TODAY’S HOLIDAY "KORISU"
Today, March 14, the Kazakhs have a holiday called "Korisu" (literal translation - "seeing each other").
On this day, people visit each other, at a meeting they will certainly shake hands and say: “Happy new year!”. This ancient custom has been preserved especially in the western regions of Kazakhstan.
On March 14, since ancient times, the Kazakhs considered the beginning of a new year. In ancient times, when the Kazakhs were exclusively engaged in nomadic cattle breeding, exactly one week before the vernal equinox, they counted their livestock and, rejoicing that the long winter was finally behind, visited each other, discussed losses and offspring, and also prepared for Nauryz.
People rejoiced that the long winter was ending. And, of course, preparations began for Nauryz, a bright holiday for the glory of not only the spring equinox, but also the renewal of nature.
The holiday, personifying in Kazakhstan fertility, friendship and love.
Nauryz holiday has already firmly entered our lives, becoming, as it was in antiquity, truly folk. All Kazakhstanis are waiting for its start.
Congratulations on the holiday of renewal, filled with warmth and mutual care! Let him enter your house with a good spring mood, generous dastarkhan and joy! We wish you good and harmony, prosperity and abundance, peace and a good future.
