Innovative methods of promoting children's books to the reader
How to attract children and adolescents to reading? How to make reading become a need for everyone? These issues became the subject of discussion of rural librarians of the region participants of the seminar - workshop "Innovative methods of promoting children's books to the reader", which took place on April 15 at the S. Bayazitov Center for Children's Creativity within the framework of the "Year of Children and Youth Reading in Kazakhstan".
Today's library is designed to be multifaceted and different: with "noisy" and "quiet" areas, with open spaces and secluded places. There are many methods and techniques for attracting children and adolescents to the book, but modern life forces us to look for new ways to attract children to reading.
The participants of the seminar - children's librarians - supplemented their knowledge with even more innovative forms of work on the formation and development of adolescents' interest in reading with step-by-step practical comments.
The main idea of creating an ethno-space in the library is to develop children's interest in the history of their roots through independent interactive creativity, increasing the level of interest in their ethnic roots, national and cultural heritage. This is facilitated by the work within the framework of the Asyl Kazyna project.
The center has created a favorable basis for the all-round development of the child, artistic and creative abilities, modern traditional and non-traditional technologies for working with thread and fabric, weaving, thread, embroidery, sewing accessories (buttons, braid) are used. One of the favorite activities of children is construction. At a consultation on the topic “Design. Modeling. Application”as the main techniques of the master classes, librarians received useful advice and recommendations.
Modern children are actively using the latest information technology. The specialists of the regional library shared their experience in creating high-quality network resources for local lore. They talked about the stages of creating a web resource dedicated to the writer S. Bayazitov, designed to show the importance of the life and work of our fellow countryman in the cultural heritage of the region. Rural librarians received positive emotions, learned a lot of interesting and useful things. They expressed a desire to apply new forms and methods in the practice of working with children.
