Library Night in an Unusual Format
The Regional Library held an annual action "Library Night" in the third decade of October. This year the Library Night was online due to the current epidemiological situation.
On October 23, from 6 pm, video materials were posted on the official pages of the library on social networks. The Instagram channel hosted live broadcasts with theater actors.
The event aimed at promoting reading, attracting new readers, and organizing new formats for spending free time. The main topic of the Library Night 2020 was the anniversaries of regional theaters - the 30th anniversary of the Kazakh Music and Drama Theater named after Zh. Aimauytov and the 75th anniversary of the Drama Theater named after A. Chekhov.
The Library Night program started off with a theatrical presentation of the “Teatr.pvl” book exhibition. In addition to books and magazines from the library fund, the exhibition presented items and attributes of performances provided by the Chekhov Theater. The Aymauytov Theater provided archival materials on theater history.
The participants had the opportunity to "look" into the holy of holies of the theater-wardrobe of the Chekhov Drama Theater, and "see" the rehearsal of the upcoming performance at the Zh. Aimauytov Music and Drama Theater.
In the cycle "Interesting Interlocutor" meetings took place with leading theater actors - Gulzhanat Omarova and Alexander Repin.
Live broadcasts were held with the participation of artists who are our fellow countrymen, and at a certain time worked as part of theatrical collectives of regional theaters. At present, they have realized themselves as actors in Kazakhstani theaters, starred in Kazakhstani TV series, and teach in theater schools. They are Zhanat Chaikina, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, awarded the Order of "Ormet" and the medal "Veteran of Labor of the Republic of Kazakhstan", and Yevgeny Zhumanov, TV presenter, theater and film actor, theater director.
The young generation of regional theaters was presented by Tatiana Golovatenko and Rakhat Zhumakhanov. In the air, young actors answered questions from the audience about themselves, plans for the future, and the role of theater in their lives. During the broadcast, the winners were determined by answering the questions of the blitz quiz on the history of the theater. The best questions were marked by the prizes kindly provided by the partners of the library - regional theaters.
