The International scientific and practical online seminar "Competencies of the professional of tomorrow. Library in the system of career guidance" with the participation of library specialists of the EAEU member states, including the regional universal scientific library named after S. Toraigyrov, was held on May 18. The seminar covered such topics as: "Key competencies of the XXI century. What do the competitiveness and professional success of young people depend on?", "The system of library personnel training in Kazakhstan", "New opportunities for library personnel training in the Kyrgyz Republic", "Volunteering as a way of involvement in the profession", "Mentoring as an informal process of professional adaptation of the library specialist" and others. Specialists from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan talked about ways to solve personnel problems and shared their work experiences.
Deputy director of the Russian state library for young adults, chairperson of the Youth Section of the Russian Library Association, candidate of pedagogical sciences M. Zakharenko summed up the seminar and spoke about the problems of professional training, determined by the current public demand.
The head of the regional universal scientific library named after S.Toraigyrov Sh. Shakhmetova made the report "Successful practices, effective forms and methods of mastering the skills of the library and information activities", where she outlined the personnel work conducted by the regional universal scientific library named after S.Toraigyrov as the methodical center of the libraries of Pavlodar region of Kazakhstan and spoke about the successful implementation of the program "School of professional excellence", as well as the system of professional development of personnel of the region, dual system of training and mentoring.
