International teleconference «Model Library: what is it like?»

On March 16, within the framework of partnership with libraries of foreign countries and within the framework of the “Friendship between libraries” project (“Professional online meetings” with libraries of foreign countries), a teleconference was held with the National Library of the Republic of Karelia "Model Library: what is it?", in order to exchange experience in the implementation of innovative projects for young people, the transformation of modern libraries into reading Centers and leisure. About 100 librarians of the Pavlodar region and the Republic of Karelia took part in the teleconference.

The Pavlodar side shared its experience of reformatting rural libraries in Pavlodar region into Modern Communication Centers. They drew attention to the forms of creative cooperation with young people, the formation of a new system of relationships and how they meet the modern needs of young users.

Library specialists of Karelia shared their experience of new generation libraries within the framework of the national project "Culture", highlights of the life of partnership and interaction of the Kotkozero Rural Model Library named after Z.T. Dubinina and the local community, the innovative form of work "Children's Television" in the children's model library of the city of Kondopoga, local history activities of model libraries in Karelia.

Professional discussion of the problems and prospects for the development of information and library services for users within the framework of the“Friendship between libraries” project will continue.
