“Development of human resources as a condition for the modernization of libraries” online meeting
Due to the objective development of society, the libraries need a new kind of specialists, who have a high level of professionalism, are able to navigate in a changing environment and strive to acquire new knowledge.
On November 24th within the year of its 125th anniversary the S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar Regional Library held an online meeting on the topic " Development of human resources as a condition for the modernization of libraries" with the library specialists of the regions of Kazakhstan. The speakers were the heads of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty) and the East Kazakhstan Regional Academic Library named after A. S. Pushkin (Ust-Kmenogorsk).
Sholpan Shakhmetova, the head of S.Toraigyrov Regional Universal Scientific Library, greeted the participants and noted that now we are in a very unique situation where any changes are possible. And everything depends only on us, from the professionalism and competence of the new generation of library workers.
Bakytzhamal Ospanova, director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the Kazakhstan Library Union (Almaty) told about the activities of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan as an educational platform for professional development of library specialists of the country. The National Library is the largest scientific and methodological center of libraries in Kazakhstan.
Bibigul Shagiyeva, director of the A.S. Pushkin East Kazakhstan Regional Library (Ust-Kamenogorsk), shared her experience of continuous education of librarians of the East Kazakhstan region.
Qualified staff is the key to successful development of any library. As a rule, every member of staff has a great potential for self-development, and all they need is to motivate their staff in the right way.
Ainagul Zhilkibekova, the head of the department of library development of the Regional Universal Scientific Library named after S. Toraigyrov (Pavlodar) told about the methodical activities in the development and implementation of new forms of professional development, professional skills of library workers in the region, including the work of "Professional Skill School for rural library workers in the Pavlodar region".
The conference was attended by about 100 library workers.
