Premiere of Zhanatalap Nurkenov's book "Don't leave me, string"

Today is an important holiday for both reading enthusiasts and all writers, journalists, publishers, literature sellers and library staff ‒ World Book and Copyright Day. The holiday was established by UNESCO in 1995, after which it became an annual event. It promotes education and awareness of the important role of the book, which is the main means of spreading knowledge and the most reliable way to preserve it. As part of the World Book and Copyright Day, a meeting was held with literary critic, philologist Svetlana Filippovna Nurkenova. She presented a new collection of poems by Pavlodar poet Zhanatalap Nurkenov "Don't leave me, string". Zhanatalap Nurkenov is a Pavlodar poet, journalist, member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR, the Union of Journalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delegate of the meeting of writers of the Virgin Territory, was born on December 17, 1940. He started writing poetry at the age of 12.His poems are published in regional and republican newspapers and magazines, composers composed songs based on his poems, the poet's poems were included in such collections as "Irtyshanka", "Dzhigit of the gray Irtysh", "Children's Poems", "Farewell wave of the Hand", as well as in collective collections "Rainbow over the Irtysh", "Pavlodar Clouds", "Literary Pavlodar". The collection "Don't leave me, string" contains not only poetry, but also prose, several short stories, and lyrical reports.Zhanatalap Nurkenov has not been with us for 27 years – on April 13, 1997, his life was tragically cut short. He passed away in the prime of his creative powers, but his poems are still heard to this day. The greatest merit in the fact that the image of the poet does not fade over the years belongs to his wife Svetlana Filippovna, who carefully preserves his poetic heritage and promotes the poet's work. The poetry collection was donated to all the Central Library Systems of the region.
