The international conference has begun!

The Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov hosts the international conference “Library - the center of historical knowledge”. The event, scheduled for two days, is attended by representatives of all regions of the country, Russia and Mongolia.

As part of the implementation of the Head of State’s program article “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe”, the head of the Regional Department of Culture, Language Development and Archival Studies Yernur Dauenov, the first Deputy Chairman of the regional branch of the Nur Otan party Ilya Terenchenko took part in the plenary session. A report was made by the Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Ch. Valikhanov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Ziyabek Kabuldinov. He dwelt on historical facts about Ablayhan's brother, his grandson Sultan Bahadur Sultanmamet, who took part in the government of the country. In addition, the Director General of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhamal Ospanova, state inspector in the field of culture and art of the regional department for control in the field of culture of the region Bayan-Olgii of Mongolia, Aizhan Aldanyshkyzy talked about their work. Guest from Russia, Deputy Director of the Omsk State Regional Scientific Library named after A. Pushkin, the head of the local history information center Aleksey Petrovich Sorokin made a presentation on the theme “Life and work of Omsk local history experts”. The participants in the plenary session heard a video greeting by the Doctor of Sciences in Social Communications, professor Oleg Olegovich Serbin, Director of the Scientific Library of Kiev State University, and Lyudmila Pavlovna Tabachnyh, Director of the Central Library of Chernogorsk, Republic of Khakassia.

In the afternoon, sectional meetings of the International Conference took place. Historians, representatives of libraries of Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia attended the events.
