Memorial Day of Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov

Sultanmakhmut Toraighyrov is one of the largest figures of Kazakh literature of the early XX century. The writer is a fellow countryman who lived only twenty-seven years and left an immeasurably rich legacy to descendants.

The regional library, named after the great poet, is doing a lot of work to preserve the poet's heritage. The annual laying of flowers at the monument of S. Toraighyrov has become a tradition.

On May 21, the library staff laid flowers at the monument of the poet at the intersection of Academician Satpayev and Toraighyrov streets.
