Another workshop, organized by the Center of Creative Creativity as part of the youth project "Business community", was held in the regional library
On November 10, the Center of Creative Creativity organized a workshop on "Savings — the basis of financial literacy," as part of the youth project "Business community".
Madina Asain (financial consultant, real estate agent) taught a financial literacy class for the college students.
During the lesson, young people learned what "savings" are, what benefits they have, and what kinds of savings there are. They also learned what a financial cushion is and what it's for, and, of course, how to properly manage your personal finances. Through specific examples, the workshop participants discussed how to raise seed capital, what are the benefits of insurance, and what is the level of risk and reward for different methods of investing.
Then came the practical part — the game "Money Mindset". Participants were given methodological material. The students were able to understand what assets are and how to properly dispose of them, what is the difference between assets and wages, what investment and deposit are, and how to start making your first deposits. Using an online compound interest calculator, they calculated the approximate amount of savings, as well as determined the amount of monthly payments to accumulate a specific amount.
It turned out that one of the participants already had his own account on deposit. He received a gift from the speaker — a depositor's book. And the rest of the active participants received plaques for the piggy bank "365 days".
By the end of the event everyone agreed that saving up for your dreams is possible for students if you analyze your expenses and income, and that saving money will not only help you learn to save, but also to set goals correctly and to achieve them.
