“Abaı alańy” in the Regional Library!

Today, Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov opened “Abaı alańy”. The event was organized as part of the campaign "Abay Day - in the Library."

The opening ceremony of “Abaı alańy” involved Yklas Ozhai, a famous Alashologist, Abayologist, laureate of the International Prize “Ruh”, the famous poet and singer; Daniyal Asenov, a narrator and well-known Abayologist in our region; Arman Kani, a laureate of the International Literary Prize “Alash”, a poet; Sholpan Baigaly, a poet; Zharkynbek Amantai, director of the Pavlodar regional branch of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, poet; Daniyar Zhumadil, chairman of the public association "JEBE"; Sholpan Kinzhikova, director of the regional center "Ana tili"; Aleksander Parkhomenko, director of the photo center PROFI; Zhenis Moldabekov, director of the Museum of Literature and Art named after Bukhar Zhyrau, and other representatives of the intelligentsia and youth.

- You can see the sorrow and sadness of the Kazakh people in the works of Abai. Every Kazakh should love Allah, uphold justice, fear ignorance, protect freedom, and to be a “fan” of Abai. Only then will we be spiritually pure,” said Y.Ozhai.

The opening ceremony included Abai’s songs and reading poems in Kazakh, Korean, German, Russian, and English. During the event, first year students of Pavlodar College of Art painted a portrait of Abai and various scenes from his works. Sholpan Kinzhikova, head of the “Ana tili” regional center, together with the participants of the “Til Kerueni” project, presented a cake with the image of Abai in honor of the great poet.

- As part of the celebration of the 175th anniversary of the brilliant thinker, we have prepared a special place for Abai’s works in our library. There are a lot of valuable work. One of them is the novel by Mukhtar Auezov "Abai", published in 1945. In addition, there is a gift book to the S. Toraighyrov Regional Library, signed by Abai’s grandson Akhat Kudaiberdyev,”said Sholpan Shakhmetova, director of the library. According to the head of the library, cultural events in honor of the great thinker are held in all libraries of the region. Besides, the Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov previously organized the book campaign "Abai in every house." As part of the year-round action, residents and guests of the city who read Abai’s works by heart will be presented with books with verses and words of wisdom by Abai.

It is worth noting that 185 events are held within the framework of the region’s libraries as part of the “Abai Day in the Library” campaign.
