The “American Cultural Center” Project
Pavlodar Regional Library named after S. Toraigyrov launched the American Cultural Center in November 2008 in connection with the implementation of the State Program for the Development of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2005-2010, as well as in order to provide effective assistance to the library readers in the selection and use of information about the culture, history, politics, literature of the United States.
American Centers and Corners are small libraries, modeled in the American style, and their aim is to provide information about the United States to their readers and everyone who wants to and thereby help to improve mutual understanding between our countries.
Participation in the US State Department program "American Centers and Corners" allowed the library to provide the readers of the Center - teachers, students, and pupils with a book fund on US regional studies, a collection of films on CD, magazine collections.
Clubs “My English”, “Movie Club” for students of schools, lyceums, and colleges operate at the American Corner.
Information about the Corner events is reflected on the website of the library.
The creation of the American Cultural Center in the Regional Library is aimed at meeting the information, cultural, educational needs of the citizens of the Pavlodar region, who need information on the economy, politics, history, education and culture of the United States.
